Theo Ruth

In 1936, Theo Ruth joined Artifort as a furniture maker. Just three years later, he led the development department, which created designs by famous designers like Pierre Paulin and Geoffrey D. Harcourt RDI. Ruth remained this position until his death in 1971. With Ruth’s Pinguïn (1953) and Congo (1952) armchairs, Artifort took its first step along the path of innovative design.
