FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What does reupholstery at Artifort cost?
Reupholstery is a skilled craft rather than a simple refresh. In the Artifort atelier, each piece is carefully dismantled and rebuilt: foam is topped up or replaced and new upholstery is applied using high-quality materials. On average, this process costs around 60% of the price of a new design. The final cost depends on the model, the selected fabric and any additional work required. By sending your requirements and a photo of the design
via the online form, a no-obligation quotation can be provided.
Can I have my Artifort furniture reupholstered, regardless of its age?
Yes, all Artifort designs can be reupholstered, regardless of their age. Even if a piece is several decades old, no longer part of the current Artifort collection or in poor condition, the skilled craftsman at Artifort can give the design a new lease of life.
How long does it take to reupholster my Artifort furniture?
On average, reupholstery takes 5 to 6 weeks after the piece has been collected, depending on its condition and the selected upholstery. Once the quotation has been approved and the fabric choice has been made, Artifort provides a clear time estimate.
Where can I view fabrics suitable for reupholstery?
At the Artifort showroom in Schijndel, interior specialists are available to guide you in making a well-informed choice of high-quality fabric or leather. It is also possible to view large fabric samples at one of the 125 Artifort retail locations.
Does Artifort offer a transport service for reupholstery?
For a fee, the furniture can be collected from your home at an agreed time (within the Netherlands and Belgium, ground floor only) and returned after reupholstery. It is recommended to properly pack the bases yourself for transport. It is also possible to deliver the furniture to the Artifort showroom in Schijndel and collect it again after reupholstery.
Can a reupholstery be combined with a new finish for the base?
Yes, this can include options such as re-lacquering or powder coating of metal and wooden components. Artifort produces entirely in-house and therefore offers various finishing options. Enquire about the possibilities so these can be included in the non-binding quotation.
Does my design classic retain its authentic value after reupholstery?
Absolutely. At Artifort, original moulds, upholstery techniques and materials are used to ensure an authentic, high-quality finish, exactly as the designer intended. In addition, an official Certificate of Authenticity is issued, helping to preserve the value of the Artifort piece. Where present, aluminium nameplates are always reattached.
Is there a warranty on reupholstery?
Yes, reupholstery is covered by a two-year warranty, in accordance with the Artifort quality standards.
