Peek inside at Artifort

'I'm a huge fan of the Artifort Fan Day!'

On Friday 3 November 2017, Artifort opened its doors for the first Artifort Fan Day in Schijndel.

Some 150 enthusiastic Artifans discovered the innovative showroom, toured the factory, and attended inspiration sessions hosted by Anki Wijnen from Zilverblauw.nl and Theo-Bert Pot from The Nice Stuff Collector bij.

PRODUCTION TOUR

Donning bright yellow safety vests and protective glasses, the Artifans were given a behind-the-scenes tour of Artifort.

During the tour they experienced the entire process, from padding and powder-coating to upholstery and assembly. 'The best part is that we got to see the entire process,' says visitor Karolien Deceuninck. 'Artifort is a well-oiled machine with all of the necessary materials.'

The highlight of the tour was a visit with master upholsterer Paul Geijselaers, who has upholstered furniture at Artifort for more than fifty years. He came out of retirement for one day to show Artifans how he upholsters the Ribbon®. This design icon, created by Pierre Paulin, is the most challenging Artifort armchair to upholster due to its unique, organic design.

INSPIRATION SESSIONS

Bloggers Anki Wijnen (Zilverblauw) and Theo-Bert Pot (The Nice Stuff Collector) hosted two inspiration sessions.

During Wijnen's workshop, visitors discovered how to take stunning photos with their smartphones. ‘I've been a photographer for years, but I learned a lot of new things today,' says Loes van der Plaat (a blogger at Kanyer.com). ‘'The best tip I discovered today was to download the Lightroom app.' For more of Anki's tips, click here

Theo-Bert Pot shared his top five Instagram tips, which helped him attract more than 50,000 followers to his design-centric account. For Theo-Bert’s top tips, click here.

NEW SHOWROOM

Visitors could discover the entire Artifort collection in the newly renovated showroom. 'Seven years ago I stumbled on a vintage Kho Liang Ie chair from 1971,' says Niels Spierings, as he admires Pierre Paulin's Tongue chair. 'It was love at first sight. I still get compliments about it; my friends love it and can't believe how comfortable it is. My girlfriend also loves it, which means I've lost my favourite seat in the house. Now I'm looking for a nice armchair for her. I think a pink Orange Slice® would be perfect!' Niels is a fan of the classics, but Loes van der Plaat prefers innovative designs. 'I love the slender legs on the Palladio table. Big, clunky legs tend to set the tone for a room; these legs are much airier. I also love the rounded table top.'

Following the success of the first edition, Artifort plans to host another Fan Day in the future. Follow Artifort on social media or subscribe to the newsletter to find out when the next Artifort Fan Day will be held.
