Designers

Artifort and designers. How one and one makes three. For more than eighty years now, Artifort has provided major designers from home and abroad with the room to work on innovative designs. They forge together beauty, functionality and form to create a unity that favourably received throughout the world. The foundations of Artifort were laid by classic icons created by designers such as Kho Liang Ie, Pierre Paulin and Geoffrey D. Harcourt RDI. The current generation of renowned top designers such as Patrick Norguet, Khodi Feiz, René Holten, Monica Förster and many other designers are continuing the Artifort DNA.

Gerard Vollenbrock

Clear simplicity in an elegant form."

Gerard Vollenbrock (1949) lives and works in Arnhem and on the Greek island of Serifos. He studied graphic design at the Academy of Art and Industry in Enschede, and fine art at the Academy of Art in Arnhem. He has been working as a furniture designer since 1984 but in the period 1987-1992, he also taught furniture and interior design at the Minerva Academy in Groningen. His designs have been included in the collections of Gelderland, Castelijn, Leolux, Lande and Linteloo, among others. In 2009, Artifort introduced his chair Paco. Vollenbrock's motto is "clear simplicity in an elegant form”. His designs are largely determined by his mastery of the use of form, space and materials. Thanks to this, his designs remain eminently attractive and fit perfectly into the tradition of Dutch Design.
