MUSE - DESIGN MONICA FÖRSTER

The elegant arched back that seems to balance delicately on the sofa’s seat is testament to the constructive ingenuity of Artifort’s development team. 'We envisioned a highly sculptural sofa with a curved, arched back,' Monica Förster explains, 'and while the materials are understated, they are of exceptional quality.'

The open back provides both lightness to the aesthetics of the sofa as well as it enables easy cleaning for contract environments.

With its classic steel inner frame with Nosag springs and moulded foam, this sofa family is perfectly suited to Artifort’s world-famous signature sleek upholstery. FORTE - DESIGN STUDIO STEFAN SCHOLTEN

The Forte programme consists of various straight and corner sofas that perfectly suit any luxurious interior. Forte is produced with only the highest-quality materials, starting with a robust metal frame and a high-end spring system to guarantee long-lasting comfort. TThe seat is embraced by a minimalistic backrest that lends the sofa its high-end appearance. The individual rectangular loose back and accent cushions are an invitation to get comfortable, with all cushions featuring premium comfort foam and unique premium designer textiles. 

FORTE - DESIGN STUDIO STEFAN SCHOLTEN

The curved finishes of the distinctively minimalistic aluminium legs inspired the designer to create a series of matching coffee tables. Forte Table’s tabletop finishes are based on the interior of the designer’s home, taking inspiration from its solid colours, natural wood and local Italian marble.

Although the armchairs are originated in an era of artistic revolution, its design remains relevant and inspiring to this day. This masterpiece is part of an unparalleled series of furniture specifically created for Artifort by acclaimed designer Geoffrey D. Harcourt RDI during the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. With his meticulous craftsmanship and groundbreaking vision, Harcourt used the same curved shell seat for various pieces, making comfortable yet businesslike furniture his trademark.
