Shark has an extremely comfortable seat providing extra support on your back. Due to a round and well-fitting backrest, both an active and a relaxed sitting position can be adopted. Perfect for the dining table or conference table.

Construction
The materials used in this chair are steel (insert frame), wood (seat plate), foam and fabric for the upholstery.

Shark collection
Choice of five steel bases: 4-legged, sled, swiveling disc base with return mechanism or (swiveling) cross base.

Seat height
Standard 46 cm. Shark with a 4-legged base and Shark with a swiveling disc base are also available with a seat height of 47.5 cm.

Upholstery
Choose from a wide range of fabrics and leather.

Finishes base
Shark is finished in powder coat. Optionally available in chrome or polished aluminium.

- 4-legged: the metal 4-legged base is finished in powder coat. Chrome as an option.
- Sled: the metal sled base is finished in powder coat. Chrome as an option.

- Cross base non swiveling: the base is finished in powder coat. Polished aluminum with chrome tube as an option.
- Swiveling cross base with return mechanism: the metal is finished in powder coat. Polished aluminum with chrome tube as an option.

Discover family models

Designed by René Holten

Holten (born in 1961) is a graduate of institutions including the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts and Design and the Design Academy Eindhoven. He has worked for the Dutch architect Wiel Arets as an architectural designer, and for Artifort as the head of product development (1993-1998). He designed the DoDo in 1997, his first design for Artifort, which immediately won the prize for best Dutch Furniture Design 1998. Some of his other designs, such as Libel (2002) and Lotus & Low Lotus (2008) have also won prizes, receiving the award for Good Industrial Design. With his design studio named after himself, René Holten focuses on the furniture and bathroom fittings industries. Besides Artifort, his clients include Pullman (beds), Mosa (tiles), and Clou (bathroom fittings).
