Frames and structural parts are often made of metal. This metal is chromed or powder coated. Both of these methods give the metal parts a strong protective layer that prevents rusting. Please be aware that the insides of tubes/profiles have not been treated and are prone to rust, so keep the room in which the piece of furniture stands free from damp.

Care
Powder coated and chromed parts need little maintenance. Dusting with a dry cloth from time to time is often enough. Greasy finger marks and stains can be treated with a damp cloth and undiluted washing-up liquid. Then wipe with a damp cloth and clean water and wipe dry. Never us ammonia or scouring agents.

Cast aluminium
Disc bases and complicated shapes are usually made of cast aluminium. This material is extremely hard but not flexible, which means that it does not bend but break when force is exerted on it. Cast aluminium is usually polished. Particularly in the case of disc bases, the material will show signs of use after a while in the form of small scratches. This is inherent in the material and the place where it is used.

Care
Treat fatty stains with a damp cloth and undiluted washing-up liquid. Then wipe with a damp cloth and clean water and wipe dry. Never use ammonia or scouring agents.
